ABOUT SYSTEM LANDSCAPES
A System Landscape provides a complete view of the system a business collects, processes and persists it’s data in.
The view achieves this by setting out:
- How the business is situated within it’s state’s enterprise environment
- The business’s geography and responsible officers
- The goals and objectives given to officers related to which state entities
- The operational processes designed to achieve the goals and objectives
- The devices that capture, process and diseminate data in business process
- The appliances used to store and organise business data flowing around a business data system
A system landscape is an architecture’s primary technical document, used to articulate the designs of both existing and new business data systems.
